I was told they are going the 7000 route for DX and the D610 is the official upgrade for those who have a D300.

But as we have long suspected, the D400 will be launched shortly before hell freezes over. I personally think it's an unashamed strategy to get people to buy expensive telephoto lens rather than get a 'free' leg up from DX. Glad I didn't buy a D7100.

They have opened a hole that Canon have jumped in with the 7Dmk2, it's what I would be looking for in a D400 as the Nikon would have better DR.

Well if you want a DX camera as we have long suspected you have to go to the D7100/7200. The D7100 that I handled recently was very good.

HI I just read about the 7200 and for what it offers over the 7100 I am not even a little bit interested. So far I am very happy with my 7100 and combined with the MB-D15 it is a nice sized and balanced unit Besides I am sticking with tradition every time I buy a new camera a very short time later a new model comes out. I think the only real big difference between the D7100 and the D7200 is they have increased the frame buffer RAM which makes it acceptable for use by professional sports photographers. There is a little better battery usage 1100 shots compared with 950. Then there is the new thing of removing the AA filter as well but for all intents and purposes the camera is the same.
