CFExpress are newer and better technology. Not all readers do XQD but most/all support CFExpress.

I dont believe I included them when I traded in the d850. Wonder where they are? If I find them I will PM you as they are no use to me.

I am not sure - Nikon only recommend CF type I cards beside the SD ones - is it worth worrying when I have Lexar SDXC 64GB 95Mb/s cards?

I think there’s a lot of hype around card speeds. If you are shooting sport, wildlife or anything that needs speed and of course video….then you may need the fastest. Personally I’ve never felt the need to have cutting edge cards….certainly not now I am retired.

I agree - as long as the card specs exceed the camera's then any excess is wasted! Nikon recommend class 6 SD and 30mb/s CF - I guess I could always plug in my external recorder to the hdmi port and shoot in live mode - I will have to test once the 810 is operational. I feel the same about internet speeds - if all you do is browse and read emails etc then you don't need more than 20mb/s nor do you need gigabit routers ...

I thought the D810 and d850 are using CF / SD cards , but SQD and CFast ??...or is it a custom job ?

From my research it seems the 810 is limited to CF cards but the 850 firmware update 1.20 enabled the use of CFexpress cards (Type B)
