I'm very interested in setting up my own website to display my photography (and possible some of my writing).

I'm not familiar with web design at all and have virtually no experience with websites.

Are there hosting services with templates that I can use? Or is it easy to set up your own?

What have you all been using for your own websites?

(not all these questions have to be answered but I just want to get a feel for what people are doing)

I used a template and then customised it for my website.
It depends how experienced you are whether you want to do this.

I know that companies that specialise in hosting photo websites offer many different templates.

Bob, have you tried RapidWeaver. This allows you to build your website locally then push it up to your web hosting company (usually your ISP who gives you free web hosting space).

That looks very nice Ralph.
It is a hosted service.

I would like to get hold of the editor to do the website design in just HTML5 but the service they provide doesnt allow you to get the editor and they must host for you.

Note to self.... Must find a good WYSIWYG website designer that uses HTML5 and software runs on Mac.  Something better than RapidWeaver and not from Adobe.
