I just picked up Lightroom 4 and I can't believe the packaging Adobe have used

LR3 came in a package that was a similar size to a dvd movie - that was too big, the current version comes in a box that is the size of 3 dvd movies

The packaging contains a cardboard disc holder that is the size and 1.5x the thickness of a music cd case, inside of that is a paper cd envelope containing a disc that I will never use

Of course the whole package weighs very little, but Adobe could have easily shipped 3 times as many in the same space

Perhaps in future they should instead ship on a memory card or usb drive to save space

At the end of the day, all I really needed was a 16 character serial number (I could've purchased download only I suppose, but I wanted to support my local store):whip:

Here's how it should be done

I too could have bought the download if it wasn't for those struggling local retailers (I know that your local retailer hasn't yet evolved past film :-))

What retailer?

My nearest retailer is called Goya et hijos.
They use paint and canvas.

Truly my nearest decent camera store is 110 km away and prices are horribly inflated.
