I just read that Google have acquire Nik Software.

That will certainly change the landscape for Nikon as some of their software is produced by Nik.

Nikon Capture is also produced by Nik Software.

Well I dont know what they intend to do with it but it may be the death of Nikon Capture or a real new improvement. I never liked CNX and it was very slow but produced great results.

It might signal that Google are getting serious and stepping up to the plate to compete with Apple/Adobe. They have an awful lot of casual users on Picassa, if they were to offer a 'Pro' version at a good price they could expect a decent transition putting them straight in there with the Big boys.
