Agree with Eric. But there is the additional learning curve. Iain, what version of MacOS are you on and what Photoshop version? I am running Photoshop CS6 on my MacPro running High Sierra.

I discovered recently that The GIMP is available for MacOS Mojave and it does seem to work properly on High Sierra now, the previous version I had didn't open properly.
