i got a really foolproof way of backing up old files ,i just get my lad to come downstairs and tell him to do it :rofl:

Well I don't have one of those, so I get to bump around in the dark on my own. My daughter could do it in seconds, bet she is busy with her own life right now (she is a teacher and that is enough to deal with)

The drive looked like it was going to work ok, but the second time it tried to do a backup there was an error and it only did part of it. I think it is time to punt :whip:

I have given up on the old drive, ordered a new one, Iomega 1tb firewire and already set up for the Mac, it got good reviews and is on sale at B&H sooooo I will try it :)

The Iomega drive is awesome less than an hour it was hooked up and had my iMac backed up no hassle I LIKE that

I got some good drugs from the sawbones and looks like I am on the mend none too soon I must say.
I am sure that working outside in the cold all day a week ago did not help matters much but I had no rain and a neighbor to help for just the one day sooooo no choice
