Just bought a 55-300mm vr for the wife to use on whichever body i,m not using ,and its turned out to be faulty (intermittent non focussing ) there good little lenses .but caveat emptor .mine cost £219 btw ,so not bad for that sort of reach.away for replacement at the moment .

not sure about that cashback offer either eric as mine came via amazon but it carried a u.s serial number

Jeff, Cant hurt to try getting the cashback from Nikon UK. They are usually pretty good and only want to see the dealer/trader invoice.

Jeff may be right as it seems this time they are asking for a copy of the yellow warranty sheet...that has Nikon UK or Europe mentioned.

I did wonder, when I saw the discount on the Amazon product was the same amount as the cash back figure.
