To be honest I haven't yet had the splash screen come up on my computer yet, except when coming back to the tab from other activities. I will try to leave the computer alone for five minutes, if I can...

Mmmm, have sat and watched the screen for 20 minutes and no splash screen appeared.  What can I do to provoke it into action?

I reset the delay to 15 mins and there are 16 mins between your posts so I guess you missed it by a gnat's I'll make it 10 shall I? I have put a "Splash" button for you in the menubar on the right.

10 it is I have found a plugin for the editor that is supposed to auto save the content to local storage - I have installed it but am yet to find out how it works!
