That's a lovely rose Chris, what's its name? Is it a Peace rose? Jan has been out in the garden with her iphone. She finds the greater depth of field from the smaller sensor/wider lens better for her purposes. She also uses a selfie stick to reach the blooms above head height and below the level she can now bend. ![]() ![]() Click here to comment on this image. ![]() Click here to comment on this image.

I was fascinated with the stigma of this tulip ![]() Click here to comment on this image. Footnote: The wife just told me triangular stigmas are a feature of all tulips. ![]()

Not a Peace - they are fuller and more yellow. This one was an impulse buy at the garden centre till about 35 years ago and it has long since lost its label! It reliably flowers every year and, if regularly dead headed will go on flowering all summer.

Well it's beautifully delicate and well captured.without a bug eitherwhich is very clever and impossible in our garden.

Close but no cigar ![]() We have a couple of Maigold ramblers and I spent an hour just deadheading one of them on Tuesday. Waiting for the next flush.

Eric wrote:Well it's beautifully delicate and well captured.without a bug eitherwhich is very clever and impossible in our garden. Wow - thanks for the complement! Bugs are not much of a problem for us as the garden has lots of trees and a varied collection of birds of all sizes and hoverflies that keep the bugs down.
