Not R, that has 42mp. The iii is only 24mp. The only reason for the R is the cropability but it's noise handling isn't as good as the iii.
The new A1 is believed to correct this high mp sensor noise, along with other mirrorless limitations like screen blackout.

Still cannot get out to visit reserves so must content myself with messing about with the garden birds.


This is a straight shot (no noise reduction in camera or post process) at 5000iso with the Sony....
