It's catching Eric! Iain, you need to resize it before you upload to flicker, also you don't need the [img before the paste. The [img ----- /img] is provided by Flicker, the rest takes care of itself.

That is a big difference, the forum software creates a mush, any subject with fine detail and texture is going to suffer. Hasten to add, most if not all forums suffer the same image degradation. The storage overhead over the years could become unsustainable over time to store larger files on the forum server.
