I just saw on the news here that the police stopped a driver and ticketed him for using the google glasses while driving.

I tend to look at these reports and say ... So what. Most of the expectations are driven by analysts who hype or overexpect.

There was another report yesterday that oil prices were down due to the recent agreement with Iran that they would fall in line with Western expectations for their nuclear program. This has NOTHING to do with oil. Yes there may be more sanctions on Iran if there had been no agreement but the agreement is not yet in force so how can this effect oil prices as there has been no change in oil supply!!! Over-egged response to current events. This is not cause and effect but rumour and bluster.

The analysts may be worthless, but the decrease in stock value weakens the company. They have less access to borrowing and become more susceptible to a take-over...imagine the disaster if Casio or Samsung were to buy Nikon!!!

Very true Tom. Not sure what the solution is but Nikon doesn't seem to listen to the customer very well or not as well as Fuji does. How long has this group been screaming for a D400? I live in Williamsburg, Va and it is a tourist haven. When I wonder down to the historic area, I always look at what folks are using to take photos. Phone cameras and P&S are the majority. Very very few entry level DSLR's and a few die hard folks with pro level gear. In the summer, I see most of the folks dragging around the pro level gear sitting on benches in the 94 degree heat with 98 percent humidity.

But then again, I am just looking at this from what I see in the US.

Gary, they need to follow the locals to the Fuji store for a nice XE1/2.

I just got myself the 14mm f2.8 as I needed a wider lens than 18mm. The 10-24mm from Fuji wont be out until February which is when I am in Hong Kong.

Well done Jonathan. Everyone seems to find the 14mm lens a real winner. What timing! In Hong Kong to get the 10-24mm. You should be able to get some good use out of the 10-24mm while in Hong Kong - looking forward to your photos.

I have the two zooms and the 23mm and could not be happier. I find my self in constant possession of the X20 when out of the house. Life is good in Fuji land.

Need to get used to the 14mm so I can use it in HK. If I see the 10-24 in the shops in HK I will probably succumb! :-)

Post home, the box, and its inner packaging stuff, to avoid any potential Customs challenge that it's new!
;-)

Some lenses I've ordered from outside Canada come in with no charges while others don't. Partly depends on how the seller fills out the customs forms (wink).

I think Nikon have priced themselves out of much of the market. We are in a recession, globally, still in reality.

For most people, photography is a hobby. It is not an essential purchase.

I'd love a df but even if I had the money (laughs heartedly) I wouldn't spend that sort of money.
