that really about sums it up eric .having recently acquired a D300s i find that i'm using in preference to my D7000 IF the light is right .the speed and ease of use makes the 7000 look like a toy ,but the noise /iso problems are also obvious to a great degree .
like everyone else sat on the fence and waiting for perfection but its taking its time appearing ,tried a D800 in a shop yesterday ,still checking out the files but can't see anything that would justify 2K for a body over what i already have.

The D7000 is a good camera but the controls are a bit harder to use and the focusing is that bit slower than the D300.
As Eric says if they sort out a few things it might be ok.
