I don't need a new CF card so it looks like I will have to do without.

That's a bit shortsighted of Sandisk not issuing software that works on a Mac? Don't Lexar do a Mac version with their cards?

They do include a Mac version Eric, but because Apple update the OS every couple of years, the software is easily made inoperative due to the upgrades.

I suppose I could load an early version of the software on one of my very old Macs but it's hardly worth it.

Now you know why I never chase upgrading ;-)

I'm afraid I never got on with Macs. PC work for me but Windows is still far from perfect and now they are talking about version 8 when I'm just getting 7 to behave!

Still using XP on my desk computers! Far more stable and intuitive than the later versions. I have windows 7 on my laptop...still struggle with it as an OS.

IMHO ...windows 7 is the best reason I have seen to switch to Mac!

:-)

I have been doing serious video editing last 3 weeks with a high end PC Windows 7 and Premier CS6 PC it is proving very stable and there is huge amount of high def data on the raid.
I shall not be moving to 8 in a hurry.

If it is broke then dont try to fix it.

W8 is more about getting tablet like features and touch screen as eventually the mouse will be replaced.

I am sure 7 is very capable of performing functions and running software.

For me, the interface is too invasive. It takes over doing things in its way ...that I prefer to do myself in my way....especially 'housekeeping' activities. I lost count of the times I said "why do I have to do it like that?"

But then again ...I was weaned on DOS, so I am still very 'manually wired'.

Mouse?  Havent used one in 15 years! Dont even know if I still have one!
