Brad, re: they no longer include There is no need, as the glass is harder than D300/D700 and similar camera's, and pro's tend not to use them anyway. Regards, Gilbert

Robert wrote: The viewing screen is supposed to be more resistive to scratching than the D2x. Yes it is. The D3 and D3S that I have dont have any scratches on them after nearly four years of use for the D3. I still think that some extra scratch protection wouldn't go amiss but it it isn't needed it is extra weight!

Brad Neal wrote: Well I've only had this thing a few hours, but there is really a lot to like about it. Granted, I am coming from a D2X, so it's quite a leap in technology. But I am really looking forward to putting it to the test over the next few days. It is a great piece of equipment but I love my D3 and D3S and with the D800 I feel I have a complete set. Keep on enjoying the new camera it is a great piece of kit. AFAIK, all the accessories for the D2X will fit the D4 except RRS brackets, batteries and WT2.

Apparently all the back orders should be filled now in USA. So there are D4 in plentiful supply. Just what you need with the Olympics starting tomorrow in London.

Ok, I told you I'd post a few images when I returned from my shoot. Not very sexy... Just an excavator out in a dusty lot. These are straight out of the camera. All I did was resize them and post. There are also links to the full res images, if anyone cares to inspect them further. All the meta data should be intact if you are interested. I shot these using Adobe RGB98, so the web is muting the color. If you want to see the correct saturation, you'll probably want to download and view in PS. Working with this camera is going to be a complete joy! I did manage to get one shot os some flowers with more vivid color, so you can check that out as well. Here are the links to the full res images:
