Peter_LO wrote:Have you tried copying files from iPhone/iPad to an ixpand drive first, then move them to the PC? Maybe it can speed things a bit up. Yes I have Peter, but I find the app for handling the transfer isn't robust enough to have lots of large files transferring. maybe it's the wrong app for my need. I have since managed to get the MacBook to recognise the back up drive so am speeding ahead with the task.

True for the robustness, and the app's interface isn't very intuitive to my taste too. I've been auto-syncing my mobile devices to a raspberry pi for a few years. So far so good for newer devices as the filenames are all in standard format of YYYYMMDD__HHMMSS.ext, but sadly none of my wifi-enabled cameras supports sftp via mobile or wifi networks.

I would suggest you get a dropbox account and upload from the iphone gallery to dropbox - then you can just open the dropbox folder on the PC and move files around as you want.
