Why have they done this? Just an upgrade from the old D750 with some good improvments in video but No Image Stab in the body. At this £2199 body only price Sony are way ahead of Nikon for video!! I have tried my D850 for video and that too is no good for seroius filming work, this new D780 will be no better.  Eric was with me when I tested it on slow moving birds on the ground the D850 camera would not even hold auto focus AFS-C!

Maybe something for Eric.

Oooh suits you sir.  Get you closer to those pesky feathered friends!
But check the price, thy wallet will need to be very well filled.

And a Z mount 70-200mm f2.8.

I think I will be using my F mount lenses in the FTZ adapter.

I'm going to try and get this lens later in the year. I'm still on the 70-200 2.8 VR (the first gen version) and it's starting to show its age now so it'd be a good update. Will have to see if I cave for a Z7 or another Z6 first though.

Already got 500mm FP and 300mm FP lenses so don't need this lens to 'get closer'. I've never had birds close enough to use 120mm so its not for me.

We used to talk about that lens many moons ago.
I thought it would be great but instead ended up with my Nikon 400mm f2.8 AFS.

Apparently there is no grip for the D780 so that takes it off my list. That it isn't any good for video is not a problem, I'm not interested in video. Plus point is no built-in flash but not enough of a bonus to out weigh the lack of a grip.

Then I would have to pay for a porter to carry it.
