In the 1970 `s G M came out with two new models, the Opel Manta and the Ascona, someone I knew working for G M was going to buy a car , so when I asked him if he was going to buy one of those , he replied ..\" Never buy a first year model, because the first year they`ll pick out a hundred faults , and the second year they`ll pick out another thirty faults, but the third year they may get it right \".. That may hold true for camera`s as well, so , perhaps you would do wise to listen to your gut instinct.

Wondering if Eric has checked his missus camera to see if it has that horizon -alignment thing, causing the Lens to appear to be longer.

I know that Andy rouse is using one to good effect at the moment ,he is in Svalbard at the moment but I will see if I can arrange a meet up when he returns . plus they are only £2500 bnib. The Z7 I have is fine for landscape work as it is same as D850 (45MP) but is not as high fps as the Z6 (24MP) and also apparently the AF is better for action stuff but in fact it is the same AF unit. IMHO the D500 is best for wildlife. The AF spots on the D850 do not cover the whole screen which I find annoying, the Z7 covers more of the viewfinder but not the whole viewfinder like my Fuji XT2/3.

Which is where I'm coming from with canikon being far behind the field , on my g80 which is a mid range model . Not only can I change the size of my actual a.f point by simply pulling it in and out with my fingers ,I can also build up a multi point a/f module to cater for instance birds flying left to right i.e a central line of two or three points right across the screen then a central block three to five deep . But saying that I still prefer the Nikon 7200 for ultimate I.q horses for courses but I keep a open mind . You do lose d.o.f with a smaller sensor as well with the mft . And noise can be a problem as well , but I find that they are easily adaptable to classic manual focus lenses and work very well with them due to I.b.i.s I have just got hold of a vivitar 200mm f3.5 which then becomes when mounted on the g80 a 400mm f3.5 with I.s via the body making it hand holdable .. I buy all classic lenses in Nikon mount as well so they will fit either body the g80 or Nikon D7200

No it doesn't...or it doesn't mention it anywhere. But I think you and Chris are probably close to the explanation of what's going on. The frame grabbed files are smaller than the still files....but that doesn't explain their comparable IQ. Which is why I am confused. I was wondering if Graham had come across this issue being a life long film maker? ''I am a away for a few days so may get a chance to try the Panasonic 4K still photo mode ....to see if that is the same file size as a crop. I notice they are now offering 6k still photos and 4K videos on the latest Panasonic. Now totally confused. By the way guys ...can we stay on topic ![]()
