Yes it was the D600 not the D610 that had an oil issue!

Both of these cameras will be a significant improvement over the D90 and to some extent trying to find the best choice looking at their performance difference is a bit academic. They will both do the job for you very well. 

The decision point for me is the DX v FX focal length issue. If you shoot more tele shots (say >100mm), then the DX body will mean more reach for your money. If your typical range is more wide angle (say <100mm) then an FX body would be my choice.

The final difference is the feel in the hand. Worth visiting a shop just to handle them both. It's quite often the decider for me.
