Just discovered that on the D500 and D850 you can switch on/off Auto ISO without accessing menus. Depress the ISO button and rotate the sub command dial (front one). It's probably in the manual and old news but I just discovered it by accident. The hidden features on these cameras. ![]()

I think this only applies to the latest generation of cameras. Z7, Z6, D850, D500 as I havent noticed this feature on previous cameras.

Eric, re: it is... You are right. I found it on page 123 of the D850 manual EU/EnN Pdf version. This trick is not available on many older cameras. Regards, Gilbert

I really don't need 36MP and the absence of a grip leaves the body too small (short, vertically) for comfort. Add the unwanted built-in flash and associated focus assist light and the D800 doesn't work for me. I don't buy new either it doesn't make sense for 10,000 images a year.

It's on the D7200 as well so not restricted to top of the range bodies

That is good if it is incorporated in D7200. It is easy to implement in firmware as it is only a timed feature for the button push and it pops the menu item. Very logical.
