Ian I have just taken D500 camera out and I agree. Best I could do was set Nef+JPG to record on both cards!

Just tested this on my D500 with firmware v1.13 It works perfectly for me. NEF saved on XQD slot and JPG to SD. Settings need to be set to NEF in RAW format. Then in Slot Selection you choose the Secondary Slot setting to be 3rd option which specifies RAW to XQD and JPG to SD.

Thanks JK will try that in morning. I also had a go with D850 and had same problem. As I have never needed to do it but we can all learn from each other.

There is also a secondary setting you need to make as well. Settings need to be set to NEF in RAW format. Then go into "Slot Selection" menu option. You choose the Secondary Slot setting to be 3rd option which specifies RAW to XQD and JPG to SD.

No that is only possible at the Nikon Servic Centre by a Nikon technician.
