I dont want the megabattery pack of the D5 that adds so much extra weight. For those occasion I can get an extra grip for £â‚¬$300.
This camera looks like an alternative to the Fuji GFX50 MF camera. I have all the Nikon lenses I want or need.

I dont want to jump too soon but if everything is on the D850 that I have heard promised then it will be ordered on day1 of release.

There is a promise of the D850 having the option to choose 45/24/12MP and being 150 x 115 x 82mm (same size as D750 almost) with CAM20K (same AF as D500).
Bring it on..... Quickly.

Anyone want a D3S low use?

Surely a choice of pixels is merely cropping sensor? How can it change and 'spread' different pixels across an FX sensor???? That would be no more than DX cropping in an FX body?

Not sure how they would implement such a thing. I guess it would be a software feature in camera EXPEED 5 chipset. This would take the image at 45MP then resample it to 24MP or 12MP. I would only want to use 45/24MP. Personally I want the accessory set to be delivered around the 10pin socket (D800/810) rather than the push in plug that is on D750/610/600.
Also I want the same battery as is in the D810/800/750/600/500. This is really important to me.

Maybe I am being a bit blinkered but I don't see the application for a sampled down image of the one the camera captured...however it's achieved. High pixel density sensors need greater care in technique...as we all found over the years at the several stages of Nikon camera development. If it's capturing at 45mp it will still need best practise.o.O

Will be interesting to see if older glass, that doesn't stand up to 24+mp will look fine at 12mp.

It is all about the workflow and storage.
There are many professionals who say that 20MP is enough for most/all jobs. I tend to agree but occasionally my D800 is not detailed enough. This is very occasionally and would centre around product shots or landscapes or commercial work where my customer wants a huge print.

This is out of the ordinary request but 46/50/100MP can satisfy this.
I have found that occasionally 36MP is not enough.

Also like I say the MP delivery is incidental as I want a standard set of accessories that use the same 10pin interface and the same battery technology and charger.
