Latest rumours of the D820 say that it will be late July for the product info release. But who knows when in the shops. Might be tempted but I am hearing it is 45-55MP so I am interested but not interested.

July 25th may be date for information release as it is 100th Anniversary date and Nikon want to make splash.

Yes but there are no details. I guess that this is so in order that Canon cant develop a spoiler.

No EVF, hybrid EVF/Optical view finder :-( 45-46MP full frame CMOS sensor Improved low and high ISO New and improved version of SnapBridge No built-in GPS Tiltable LCD screen just like the D750 and D500 Memory card slots: one SD and one XQD AF system from the D5 No built-in flash (from the teaser picture) Back illuminated buttons (from leaked pictures) Joystick selector (from leaked pictures) Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (from leaked pictures) 8K time-lapse video capabilities (from promo video) New: the D850 will be on display at the Photo+ Expo in October New: touchscreen New: 4k UHD video in FX format (with no crop).

Looks like they are after the very high end big chip Hasselblad commercial & advertising photo market but would noise still be the big problem for Nikon with the size of the chip compared with the medium format cameras? For what I do the D810 has more fine detail than I ever need and noise at reasonable ISO levels is very good, ie up to 1600 ISO.

I have been using my D800 for flamenco photos at ISO 6400 and the results are good. They are as good as my D3S but also due to the higher pixel density give me better cropping opportunity on some occasions but in general the images look smoother. I try to frame accurately so I dont need to crop extensively.

Won't find me in the lineups for this one. Looks like it will cost around $4000 US and won't be readily available till December.
