If Nikon made the new FX mirror less with the same electronics as their mirrored models, it would be be a simple straight thru wiring like that found on automatic extension tubes.

Yes exactly and there is no reason to change the interface, especially the G lenses which have fully electronic interfaces.

This is why I find it so strange that Nikon do not have a FX sized mirrorless camera.
The Nikon1 series is fine it is just that it is crippled for professional use by the sensor size.

The new Sony a9 seems to have risen the bar on full frame mirrorless.

Sony have the field to themselves at the moment. They need some competition to see how they work under pressure!

Images with the little Sony RX10 are spot con as per the flower posted on this topic. Also I have been using their pro camcorders for 30 yrs+ and I think they are best you can get. They have been in electronic image making longer than most!

If someone brings out a third party grip that connects in the battery grip the D7500 would suit me, I'd just need to remember to carry spare cards.

Iain, you want a third party MB-D17? I guess it must be very close to being released.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neewer-MB-D17-Replacement-Li-ion-Battery-Grip-For-Nikon-D500-/201853908820?hash=item2eff6e3754:g:GS8AAOSwB-1YyPdD

Best check that the D7500 and MB-D17 are compatable but the Nikon UK site implies this without saying it in so many words!

I can't see how it would work Jonathan as the pictures of the bottom of the D7500 shows covers etc for contacts.

Give Nikon Uk a call.
There is little data about the D7500 and accessories. The Nikon website I got the info from is confusing.
