Well took the plunge and got a D500 I've not had much chance to try it as the weather here today is dull and dark.

That's no excuse Iain!!! Ideal territory for the D500...

Well done.

Looking forward to seeing some results.

D500 in combo with the 200-500 is an amazing BIF camera.
Well done those kingfishers dont stand a chance now.

Well done those kingfishers dont stand a chance now.

If I can find them they are being a bit elusive.

The high ISO seems to be good.

I missed a glorious opportunity today, a Sparrow Hawk, no more than 15ft away perched in a tree bare of leaves, it had been watching me then flew off when I spotted it.

Nothing exciting but taken at 6400 iso with nothing done to it except converted to jpeg.

Quite impressed. Hopefully I will get out more next week and have something better to photograph.

It's a whole lot better than my Sparrow Hawk!

Looks nice and clean. You have GOT to get into the follow focus, it's astounding, even in a hamfisted fashion that I tried it, through glass with a very busy background. It's amazing watching it working.

I'll have to try it Robert, I'm a bit old fashioned as I use single point to track.

Not had much chance to use the D500 as Christmas seems to have got in the way.
