Hi everyone,

I'm Felix and hail from sunny Singapore.  Bought my first D850 in March and the Df in May.  Before these, I had the F90x which was gifted to me when a colleague retired.  It came with the AF35-70 lens.

Last year, I was gifted an EM and an FM2n from a good friend who no longer shoots film.

I am an amateur photographer who shoots different genres and am into portraiture at the moment.

I am basically a Pentax user since film days and have the K1 and KP.  I also have the Olympus OMD EM1 MKIII and a Fujifilm X-T5.

Welcome Felix to our friendly forum we look forward to seeing some of your photos. I had a D850 and thought it was the best Nikon I ever had. I first came to Singapore in 1952 on holiday from school my father was there with the British Army. My sister also lived in your interesting country in more recent times.

Hi Graham,

Nice to hear that you have been to Singapore.  It has changed a lot since then.

Welcome Felix
I too had a D850 and like Graham found it the best Nikon I owned and used it professionally as my main camera for 2-3 years. I now have the Sony A1 with a suite of lenses to cover all genre, except IR where I use a converted Fuji XE1.

I had and enjoyed a Fuji XT2 some years back but stopped it when I started doing bird photography as it didn’t focus fast enough. But I recently looked at a friends XT5 and was impressed with the improvements over the XT2.

I particularly like the Fuji X system because of its leading lightweight. Not just the bodies but Fuji lenses are also lighter than the other manufacturers offerings. I am not ruling out a return to Fuji in the future but for now the Sony does everything I need…and as I am now retired, the finance to keep changing is more restricted.

Look forward to seeing some of your photos.

If you look back through some of the forums threads you will no doubt notice that we are a very friendly group of people often having humorous interchanges about photography and non photographic subjects ….so the threads can wander a lot. Haha

Once again Welcome

Welcome Felix, looking forward to seeing some images of Singapore.

As you will have gathered, we are not exclusively Nikon focussed although that is where the forum started - you will find a wealth of expertise from our tiny community of active posters and a wide range of interests.

Feel free to join in, the more posts the better and if you have particular interests not currently covered, then start a new thread.

I host the forum and wrote a lot of the code, so if there is a feature you would like to see added then suggest it and I will see if it is possible.
