Good luck. I wish I could convince myself absolutely that the Fujis are my final end game but until the AF improves to closer to the Nikons then I will keep my Nikons.

I am aiming to buy another Nikon body (maybe two if the wife doesn't like my choice) but more appropriate to my retired status and needs. Like JK, I am still not convinced that my flirtation with Fuji will continue. There are compelling reasons in its lightweight compactness and IQ...but the ergonomics are still the main concern for me. The DSLR just feels better in the hand.

I feel that the Fujis can deliver great IQ and just as good results but the lens range is a little limited currently but that will be addressed in the next few years. The AF performance difference between Nikon amd Fuji is the key factor. I would have no hesitation doing the swap to Fuji completely if the AF performance was equivalent.

I agree, the focus performance isn't up to speed but I have to say the DSLR will always feel better in the hand every time, and that feature may carry the day. I just get so tired of chopping and changing camera bodies...D3 for commercial, D7000 for tele work, fuji for walk around. In the old days I had one camera and could pick up and shoot without looking. Apart from finding the right camera bag with the right body, I now have to do a mini re-learn each time I change cameras. ![]()
