They are wonderful Kathy, thanks for posting. What irks me is many of those photographs were taken within 30 miles of here... I must get out more.

Although, that said, this morning I am planning to visit Coniston Water where they are holding the annual 'Power Boat Records Week', this is where Donald Campbell made his water speed record attempts which ended so tragically.

I have intended visiting the record week for the last 4 years but the weather has been so bad I have not thought it worthwhile. Today is forecast full sun and calm winds so I am loading my long lenses into my bag with the D200!

Happy day.

The forecast was spot on Jeff, a beautiful day from sunrise to sunset, which unfortunately wasn't particularly spectacular, perhaps due to the absence of clouds?

I lingered at one of the classic locations on the East side of the lake, hoping for a sunset to round off a perfect day. I took a few of what there was in the hope I may be able to make something of it?

I managed to get quite a few pix of the boats under power but have no way of posting them until I get home. :-(

This morning it's back to rain! At least we don't have a hosepipe ban...
