liars     idiots    and  nerdowells  OH  MY!!!!!!!

I ordered a ipad mini for the wife on Friday from Mac Mall the woman I spoke to could hardly understand me (that should have been a sign to run away) but I went ahead. I was told the item was in stock (led me to believe it was in the California store) and it would ship Friday.Call ended ( I was not given a order number or a tracking number) I got side tracked (Honey do) and did not get back. So I called customer service Saturday, and was given an order number and a tracking number. All is well right   NOT     I tried the tracking number several times till Monday afternoon, I then  had a chat on line with them and was told that it shipped Friday chat ended before I could comment. That started a slow burn and I called customer disservice and was told that I was given an invalid T number ok so give me the right one, couldn't do that as it was a phone order and the person that took the call would have to do it. ok I ll talk to her    sorry she must be on break. (you can see where this is going)
so I demanded to speak to a supervisor that won"t help only the order taker can do anything ( I have condensed this muchly) this all lasted over an hour and a half. In the end I was have some fun just shoveling stinky stuff at them. Because I have a background in shipping and receiving I knew they really were just blowing smoke trying to put me off only making thing worse for them I let them off the hook saying that I would probably return the item unopened.

This afternoon I just for grins I checked the tracking number with UPS. yes you know where this is going, item shipped fro Memphis Tenn  Monday morning.  OH so much could have been avoided had they just told me the truth in the first place instead of covering their nether regions and lying

:whip:

o.O

Ed

All will be well in the end
If all is not well
It is not the end!!!!

Oh dear! Sorry to hear that Ed.

Perhaps next time you will order from Apple on-line? I never had a problem with the Apple Store.

I am sure Apple would be keen to know what their sellers are up to?

Hope it turns up OK in the end.

we have lost to major countrywide electrical /camera retailers in the last month i.e comet and jessops who else will fall this year

Hi Robert
Apple was a week out, and they charge tax, or I would have ordered from them.
The iPad is on it's way verified by the" invalid "tracking number they gave me it should be here Friday or Monday. I guess they didn't want me to know it was coming from Memphis,
In the end I was having fun with them because I knew more about how the UPS system works and they did not it was fun listening to them digging and backfilling all ways coming back to we can't give you a refund because it item has shipped. I could not get them to tell me what country they were in. I found out later they are in lower slobovia or sum such  I was thinking of calling and asking for the new tracking number they promised and never sent to me but a total waste of my time so I refrained from picking on them any more
I was a customer service manager for a photo lab and if my people had done any of the things they did they would have found themselves in heap in the alley, door locked behind them TRUTH IS BEST !!

sorry I am rambling again or could that be yet!!!!:baffled:

Ed

The problem with buying from the cheapest store can be more about their returns performance.

I am afraid I have started to use Amazon more and more even if I can get the item cheaper elsewhere, as their returns process has always been faultless.

Hope you dont need to discover that part of their service and all is well Ed.

I just wanted to let you all know what I went through so maybe you won't fall into their spider web or stinky stuff.

Sorry to hear about your experience Ed.

Hope that the product is OK.

Remember that once you have it that Apple will deal directly with you if you go into an Apple store.

Thanks JK
I know that and never planed on dealing with them anymore anyway.
Nothing I said or did will have any effect on them, but it was fun listening to them squirm. LOL

Ed, I don't understand the "No tax payable" bit.

Here in the UK we have a sales tax called VAT, all sellers charge it unless the product is going abroad. If the product goes abroad, or perhaps in your case into another state, the local tax is payable.

When I have bought things, even used items from private sellers in the US, I have had to pay VAT, AND import duty, AND a 'Handling charge' by UPS or whoever the shipper may have been.

I know Apple play things by the book with tax and stuff, so how come this 'job outfit' can buck the [tax] rules?

Or, will the delivery driver be asking for a check from you when he delivers?

Maybe because it's coming from Overseas / Out of State? Here in AUS there is 10% GST (same as VAT) on all domestic items, but from overseas it is only applied where the value is greater than$1000. In the US I believe the sales taxes are applied by State rather than federally.
