No numberplate either!

Safe from the speed cameras too, after all who would recognise that motor?

You cant touch her otherwise it is deemed to be assault on the Royal person.
This offense is the only one in UK law currently, I believe, that is punishable by ...... beheading!!

I'm kind of split by this, (no pun intended) I would consider myself a monarchist, but at the same time I would like to see the emperors of corporate greed, town hall parking services, HMRC, and especially the judas DVLA and company HR managers who are inherently a bunch of filthy liars, dragged onto the streets and topped with a blunt blade.

Is it possible to be a royalist and a revolutionary at the same time?

Why not Steve? There is probably a category for that view.

To be honest I was bracing myself for your reaction on this one, I know you have strong views on these matters...

I don't think being a loyalist means you have to embrace the corporate and government skulduggery we have to endure.

There are of course many who would regard Royalty at the arch offenders in the skulduggery stakes. All depends on your viewpoint.

I believe our Queen has conducted herself in an exemplary manner for all these years, she has outlived so many prime ministers and crises during her reign. Always appearing to be impartial, although who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

I believe in this day and age our Queen is a vastly greater asset to our country than any 'Here for four years and gone.' President. She represents a special sort of stability.

I agree, when you consider the state of the world nowadays it doesn't take a genius to realise that without the Queen our country would be in a hell of a mess. We are fortunate to have something not many countries do.

Now.....if her Majesty could just get rid of HMRC and the DVLA...life would be even better.

Well HMRC are flavour of the month right now with me having just allowed an appeal for my late Self Assessment penalty.

As forDVLA... Ask me when I apply for the replacement V5 for my new car. If they allow it I will be a very happy bunny, if not...

Ah Robert you are being swayed by the present rather than the rationale that says that you dont need HMRC if we didnt want/need Trident missiles, submarines and all the other military armaments that are deemed by politicians to be necessary to deter other megalomaniac politicians from doing dangerous deeds.

There is an answer.
Public strangulation - not a nice way to die, for anybody with political power ambitions.

The anarchist tendency is not for no order and rules but it is for a method of ruling without hypocrisy of politics and stringent rules.  There is a rule of common law and righteousness but what becomes missing is the enforcement part.  Without enforcement you get into a who rules anyway place and then it does become truly anarchic.

Who lives in a perfect world, only Voltaire's Candide and only in his head!

JK: "the rationale that says that you dont need HMRC if we didnt want/need Trident missiles, submarines and all the other military armaments"

But we hardly have JS....thanks to Blair. Anything we do have must be american and paid for by the taxpayer. In that way the taxpayer sees no return for the contribution i.e. if armaments were all British built at least we'd see some employment.

Mind you this Tory mob aren't much better than Blair...how about this: They have to have american aircraft on the new British carriers, they must be american, nothing else will work. Naval-ising the Eurofighter is not considered, so, they have to have JSF. Now, the government lies to us and says it can't afford two arrester systems for these aircraft, and decides on buying the STOL JSF because it doesn't need arresters...what was recently scrapped ? !

...and here's the confirmation we have a lying government...G. Osbourne just gave £10bn of our money to the IMF to bail out Greece, again.

I can imagine there might have been a conversation in the past, along the lines of: "we want you to scrap the Harrier, and buy our JSF, Oh and we want you to scrap Hermes & Invincible"

The fact that the government has been caught out red handed over this issue probably means there was such a conversation in the not too distant past.

When will we ever get a government that does not foot lick the americans or the EU, or anyone else for that matter.

One may talk about the British defence industry, but for some of us (who have Hawker Siddely running through our veins) it's a bit of a sore point.

Hesseltine
Blair
To some extent Cameron

All three should be on trial for treason.
