Bentley. 6.75L V8 twin turbo. Probably because of the weight of the armour belt.

Do not confuse the bonnet mascot with the traditional Rolls Royce winged spirit, this car has the St George & dragon mascot.

Nice colour don't you think? Traditionally the Monarch's transport colour was black, though I notice recently a shift toward this deep burgundy, same colour as the Royal barge. However black may be for state functions.

Don't know if this is diamond jubilee colours or just a change in taste, or some uniformity with the colour of the Royal Standard flag, but goes well with gold none the less.

There's probably some Royal protocol, somewhere.

Yes I noticed the shift to the dark burgundy colour but I had noticed it in TV coverage but thought that it was a light colour shift thing.

On a lighter note ... For Steve.
Probably run out of black paint and couldnt get the right chemicals to make another batch.

No, she's got her hands on a large batch of mercury oxide!

PS: new entry from me on the mercury battery thread.

(and what with the jubilee and my being into fine watch engineering I had to mark the occasion by acquisition of a new Seiko titanium & gold kinetic.)

Ah but...the British spirit !

Did you see the London Philharmonic's finale?...those girls were soaked to the skin and cold, but they still gave a perfect rendition of Rule Britannia.

Besides, people from just about every country celebrated, so even the weather joins in the celebration of Her most Britannic Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This is an interesting image on the BBC website, I hope it's visible world wide.

60 images combined? Don't see how that could be done with a moving subject and one cameras, why not just use a D800?
