Lol. Your ex obviously didn't show you the decent bits I'd fb!! I have no virtual garden, cafe or any other game. The sad people who play them were driving me nuts with game requests - then i discovered how to block them hehe. I do like seeing the photos posted on the heritage pages of the towns i grew up in though and making contact with people i knew way back (not as far back as kindergarten mind you!), and i network with artists around the world. There are also some great photography pages. And i have my own pages which get me work. Fb for me is a great one stop shop for a huge amount of info. It's a nice toy if you know how to filter out the crap. Unfortunately, a lot of people think the crap is great lol.

I find Facebook very useful, without the games! (they are just time wasters) I can keep track and in contact with a much wider circle of friends than I would otherwise be able to especially in the UK now I'm in Australia. I find for organising events and knowing what's going on in my social group here it's superb and sharing photos with none photography friends it's the only medium where they will see the photos.

Yes FB can take over because of it's very public image\accessabilty. I find that I have contact with smaller groups of contacts and like minded groups which does divert one. Posting things that interest specific folk via FB is much easier than the gallery e.g. a slide show from the village's Apple Day (https://vimeo.com/767942830) and archive pics from my news work over the last 30 plus years of local interest. A FB link might be an idea. I'll be your friend.

richw wrote: I find Facebook very useful, without the games! (they are just time wasters) I think that is true Rich. I belong to a Facebook group that has all my friends from when I lived in Guyana. This is invaluable as I can easily keep in touch with this dedicated group. I use one email address for this account setup. I also have another FB account (apparently this is not allowed by FB policy) that I set up with a different email account and I use for my cousins in Australia and other people but in fact I want to close this account but I need to move everyone to my other FB account. (It is a long and complicated story as to why I need to have two accounts!!). Since this is not meant to be allowed FB dont have a process for merging accounts.
