Yes, Click on Gallery in the forum menu>

Then click on 'My Albums' in the header menu.

On 'My Albums' screen at the top left is to option to create a new Album.

Click on that option and enter the title and description of your new Album.

Select Private if you only want it viewable by members.

You can have multiple Albums.

Can I retrieve the images that are lurking in a general user area and redistribute them to the appropriate new albums? I can't seen to navigate to all the images.

Yes, I think you can but I wouldn't attempt it myself. It's quite easy to upload, probably twice as easy as moving the images if you are not familiar with the procedure and I haven't tried it yet.

Although I like a challenge I will have a go... Stand by...

OK, moving an image is a piece of cake.

You need to have an Album of your own to move the image to.

Find the image you want to re-locate, open it.

To the right you should find a command to 'Edit Photo' Click on that.

In the Edit Photo screen in the centre of the screen BELOW 'Choose File', will be the current location of the image. Click on that and you should get a drop down menu of your options for re-locating the image. Select the album you want and it's done.

Easy!

The files in the the previous gallery that we have on this forum will have been downsized and renamed to some strange naming convention used in that gallery.

I suggest that that the best route is to reload the images at as these will then have all the right references and naming.

Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought we were talking about moving between the Albums in the current Gallery.

Assuming you intend to use the new Gallery and have created an Album or albums, a tip to ease access.

While at the 'My Albums' screen create a bookmark, called My Photo Gallery.

The URL is:

http://nikondslr.uk/photos/useralbums.php

Any member who is logged in should on clicking this link go straight to their Album list screen. That is where the 'My Gallery' button should be pointed JK.

This is a screenshot showing my Album screen and the bookmark.

I have put these tips into the Login Privileges thread as well.

Uploading images into an album is easy.
Please make sure that you are in the Album you want to upload in (see Robert's screenshot).

1. Click on My Gallery link
2. Click on My Albums link
3. Select the album you want to upload your images into by clicking on the Upload Images link on right side of screen.
4. To the right side of the field where it says Select the photos you wish to upload from your computer: click on the Browse button.
5. Browse on your computer to the image you want to upload. Select image and click Open or OK. It is Open on my Mac but it may be different in Windows.
6. Click on the Upload/Submit button. Wait for image to upload.

Repeat until all your images are uploaded.

I have asked the PPP support guy to upload a new banner logo for the Gallery so we will get this in the next day or so.

Thanks to Kathy Baker for the new banner.
:-)

Also you will also see that we have a new discussion forum banner logo.

Thanks to Eric Field for providing this.
:-)

Forgive me if you've answered or are addressing this point....when I use the Forums link to return to the discussions pages from the gallery, I am no longer logged in. I haven't checked this on the PC ...but it's true for the iPad.
