Is there anyway that a like button could be added so when someone put a pic on you can hit the like button instead of having to post all the time?

We already have a 'like post' button...  Your wish could be accommodated if only one image were posted at a time.

I don't like 'Like' buttons but perhaps that's just me?  I never visit social media, where I have heard they are part of the culture.

Not hard to type a few words of appreciation or point out how an image might be improved in the detached viewers opinion.  Flagging an image as 'Liked' doesn't convey much, a remark usually explains why an image is liked, or not... much more helpful.

I asked ChrisB to add it last year (2019) Iain.

I think it is a good addition as in the past in the old forum when people posted a picture there were a lot of comment posts that just contained "Nice photo" or similar.

Now you can just hit the like button or Comment against the photo which puts the comments against your image in the gallery.  I think the image comments is a really good feature that allows for critique or just general comment.

There is usually method in my madness just I cant tell what that method is!

I agree with Robert.

Moreover, I fear that if our comments and discussion are abbreviated to a mere 'Like' number this forum won't last much longer.

I for one, get enjoyment out of the discussion and a bit of banter. If all I get is a Like (or not) from my posts, then I won't bother in future.

Well the button has been there for a year and a half and doesn't seem to have had much of an impact - even for those who wanted one and didn't see it...

Well I tend to do a Like if I agree with the comment and I have no need to add to the comment.
If in a post there is only an image then I will Like it and comment as well, but I understand that some prefer to comment only.

I see "Like" buttons as ego boosters for people who need them. Depending on the forum I may "like" something but it rather depends on how that forum treats the button. If nobody likes what I post, no problem, if they do it's nice but that's all. Some forums keep score others don't I suppose I must have a score on the ones that I use but I have no idea what it is, how I rank or even, unless it is blindingly obvious, how to find it. If the button wasn't there I wouldn't miss it, if fact this thread has shown me that we have one, I'd never noticed it before.
