The Nikon D850 has two memory card slots and supports the following types:
1. XQD cards – high-speed, robust cards designed for professional use (fast write speeds, good for 4K video and high FPS shooting).
2. SD cards – compatible with UHS-II SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards.

With the latest firmware the D850, D500 and D5 can use CFexpress cards but, big but, the read and write speed is limited by the camera's hardware. The speed benefit only affects read speed when used with a card reader and a suitable computer. The D850 firmware required for CFe cards is 1.20 D850 firmware

There's no in camera benefit in using CFexpress cards and there might be a slower write speed when doing so. An XQD reader will almost certainly NOT read CFe cards nor, unless specifically stated, will a CFe reader read XQD cards.
