Well I live in a Grade II listed mill and the restrictions around that are painful enough.  I imagine that is a Grade I listed building so even more restrictions apply.
I have vowed never to buy another listed building!  In a modern age with 3D printers and holograms I dont believe that the restrictions need to be as stringent as people/historians can always look back at pictures, holograms etc.  However please note I am not advocating the place be trashed and a block of flats or the like be put in place, just an easing of the very parochial restrictions.
