Sigh... and there I was thinking that I knew a bunch of techy geeks who could come up with a rational explanation!!!
Seriously ...I wonder if it was a foreign body INSIDE the phone which fell over a corner of the sensor while it was help pointing upwards. Then fell away during or after the first picture was taken.
Not so much a dust bunnie as a dust snake!
