For Nikon D1, D1X and D1H users. The batteries provided by Nikon are NiMh and these last for about 2-3 years depending on use and recharging. Unfortunately they eventually hold very little charge only sufficient to take 8-12 images. If you do a DIY conversion to a Lion battery then this problem of battery memory goes away but obviously to do this you need to have a 'dead' EL-EN3 battery. Here is my Version1 battery conversion.
